Why Repair or Rebuild?
You are probably wondering, why should I get my battery repaired or repacked when I can just buy a new one? Well, consider this. There is a likely chance, the mobility scooter or electric wheelchair battery that you were using, might not be manufactured anymore.
Luckily for you If this unfortunate issue ever arises, Scooterland may have a solution.
So How Do I Get it Repaired?
Send it to us at Ashmore on the Gold Coast! Send us the complete Battery. We also rejuvenate Gel Acid Batteries, but we don’t recommend them anymore as an optimal choice to power your mobility scooter, because they degrade faster and thus have a lower lifespan. So if you have some spare broken batteries lying around, come to us and get them fixed.
After all, two batteries are better than one.
What Happens Next?
This depends on the method that the battery is delivered to us, it might take several days to transport and travel to our destination. When we receive your battery, we charge it to full capacity then perform a static discharge test, to see what the capacity is compared to the manufacturer’s specification. After this, according to the result, we may open up your battery and measure individual cells to see if there are dead cells that can’t be charged. If we find dead cells we can replace individual cells or groups of lithium cells. If the issue is with the circuit board, we take a close look into the circuit and connecting wires, then fix or replace anything that is damaged or non-functional, then rebuild your battery and retest.
When the rebuilt battery is close to the manufacturers’ specification, we will notify you and send it back to you, or you can come by and pick it up during our business hours.
